Dear Richard – thanks for getting in touch and for sharing your really interesting project. I’m sure this would be truly unique if you’re able to get the go-ahead to create the course. Very best of luck with that – do let us know how you get on. We’d obviously love to see any photos if you do manage to navigate a way through the local planning regime.

Best wishes,

Subject: Peace Putt

Dear CND

This is my determined effort to send a no nukes signal globally. It will enable TIME magazine to put an aerial photo of the course, when made, on their front cover.  We would see it dotted with people playing and it part of a world-wide enthusiasm for the Peace Putt version of mini golf:-

I have met with a Local Council Officer who has so far refused permission for me to mow the one hundred metre diameter peace sign in the playing field. The field was retired from mowing, under protest but cut for hay. It now seems, I suspect, as if the Council want to shift the towns lawn bowing club there and allow their site to be built on for houses near the town centre.
However, the field in question at Western Park is ideal for youth activities. I am meeting with a local free newspaper reporter on Monday 18 May 2009 for her to report on the proposal's rejection and the mystery other planned use that has so far not been made public as an undisclosed scheme. I will update the website as progress continues.

Yours sincerely
